You speak to me as I meditate on Your Word in the quiet of the morning.

You speak to me as I stop to listen in wonder as the Tui in the tree outside my window sings his beautiful song.

You speak to me as I take time to notice the colours and the intricacy of the petals on a flower.

You speak to me in the smile of my Grandchild, as he gabbles away singing to his toes.

You speak to me as I see the old couple taking their daily walk along the waterfront.

You speak to me as I hear the children laughing and watch them joyfully skipping home from school…..especially when it’s Friday.

You speak to me when I pour my heart out to a friend that truly knows my heart.

You speak to me as I am driving along focussed on the next thing to do and not the road.

You speak to me as I look at a painting created by an artist, that was breathed upon by You.

You speak to me when I hear a song that touches so deeply I know that its origins are from heaven.

You speak to me when I see a child rush to his Daddy after he has fallen off his bike looking for comfort.

You speak to me as I gaze into my daughter’s eyes.

You speak to me as I gaze across the water and see the Sun You created slowly sinking through the multihued sky.

You speak to me when my husband reaches for my hand as we are curled up in front of the fire watching a wonderful movie.

You speak to me as I lie in my bed and unwind from the day and create peace in my heart, when all around there seems to be trouble.

You speak to me as the rain falls endlessly on the tin roof, but I am snug inside my bed drifting off to sleep.

You speak to me when I sleep in the night, painting pictures on the screen of my mind, awaking my destiny.

So many different ways, so many different times of the day or night, through people, through creation, through the giftings and talents of another, however it comes, however You say it, I am thankful that You speak to me.

“Awaken, awaken”. I heard Him whisper.

“I am awake Lord!”

“Awaken, awaken”.

“Lord, I said I am awake!”

“Awaken, awaken”, He whispered yet again.

“Please Lord, I don’t understand, I am awake!” I reply slightly indignant.

“Your body is awake, your mind is awake, but your spirit is sleeping.” He gently replies.

“Lord, I can hear you, my spirit hears you?” I respond as a question.

“Now, it does.  I have been calling for some weeks now, and you  have only just responded.” He says.

“Oh Lord, I know, I have been busy again, but I have been speaking to You”. I say.

“Yes, you have been speaking to me, but you haven’t heard what I have said back.”

“Lord, I heard what you said in the dream the other night, I am positive that I got the interpretation right.”

“Yes, I did speak to you in a dream, you did remember the dream, wrote it in your journal, and interpreted it correctly.”

“Well, then I don’t understand?”

“I speak with you many different ways, at many different times, particularly in dreams.”

“Yes, I know this Lord.”

“The conversation we have been having is slightly stilted and has not been flowing as easily backwards and forwards.”

“Lord, I am aware that it hasn’t been as easy to hear you, but only because I have been caught up in the mundane, and You know that there were things that had to be done.” I say.

“When I speak to you in a dream and then you interpret, you must then apply it.”

“I thought I was!”

“Oh daughter, I am about to lead you into the higher ways of my heart.   I showed you that in the dream….who can ascend the mountain of the Lord, those with clean hands and a pure heart.”

“Lord, are you saying my hands and my heart need work?”

“No, little one, I am saying that you now have the time and you need to expect Me wherever and whenever, even if it is not convenient for you.  I am constantly speaking to you, I have been even in those busy months recently past, I know you have heard some of what I have been saying, but it is now time to completely awaken and to focus on the destiny that you have been called to.”

“I’m listening Lord.”

“Yes, you are beginning to, I want you to fix your eyes upon Me and upon what you know that I have called you to do.  To really look at the bigger picture.  I am aware that you doubt and sometimes think that the dreams are just your grandiose wishes, they are not.  Look at Joseph.  Look at Daniel. Look at David. When I called them, they were not held in positions of esteem, but they heard Me whisper and they held onto what I told them and I poured My blessings and My favour upon them, even when it seemed like they would never achieve what I had told them earlier, and in fact it seemed as if the opposite was happening. But I raised them into positions of authority that I had planned before they even came into existence.

I have been stripping away all the things that you have put before Me, and now there is only you and I left, and that is how it should be.  I will cause you to shine.  You will be a light in the darkness and you will achieve all I have prepared for you.  I will pour my favour and my blessings upon you and take you up My mountain higher, higher, higher than you have ever been before and you will begin to see with a fresh clarity as you come in closer, closer, closer to Me and I will place you in a position of responsibility above and beyond all that you can even imagine. Let these words from My heart begin to resonate within your very being. Fix your mind upon them, chew upon them, look for ways that I will expand upon them and open doors for you.  Expect Me to open the doors so that you can walk through to achieve My purposes and My plans.  These ways will not be the familiar, and you will testify to many how you can hear Me lead and guide, and in turn this will bring comfort and encouragement to many to begin to “hear with new ears” in so many ways. You are called to be a forerunner in these things, and you already know this, but I don’t think you realised how hard and how lonely it would actually be, even in your excitement about what I was doing.  But I will be with you every step of the way and I will place those around you as the need arises, and give you discernment on how to plough and how to proceed.  I will give you the words to speak, the favour to walk into places that you never dreamed possible……it will be clear that it is not of your own effort but only by My Spirit.  Your story will resonate in the hearts of many and lead those that already know Me into the higher places too and those that are yet to meet with Me into My very presence. You are ready to listen now, you are ready to have “ears to hear”.

Take for example, Joseph, Daniel and Mary’s Joseph – they came before World Leaders and Kings and it changed their lives, their nation and even the entire world, because they didn’t pass it off as “just a dream”.

What if you were called to be a “Joseph” or a “Daniel”?  What if God was actually speaking and leading you to go and stand beside your Nations Leaders, World Leaders or Kings?   Would you if they didn’t profess to be a Christian and were possibly even anti-Christian?

We see from the stories of Joseph and Daniel that God will put us into situations with people that do not know Him (yet). Are they just in the bible to give us a biblical history of the times?  No, I don’t believe they  are purely in there for that reason alone, but to encourage us to walk out our own destinies.  These were everyday people living their lives when they were apprehended by the Spirit of God through a dream and used mightily to transform others lives.  Were their lives a cake-walk because they heard from God via dreams?  Was anybodies in the Bible?

Jacob had a dream that he saw a ladder with angels ascending and descending and a promise from the Lord that he would be given the land and all the peoples on the earth would be blessed through him and his offspring.  This is not a minor promise and had a major impact on Jacob’s destiny. He believed this word from God and acted upon it as did the others.

Have you had a dream recently or maybe in the past, and you know that it was from God, but because of the society that we live in today (Greek mindset – education and theology is everything versus Hebrew – experiencing the very presence of God and education) you have discarded it, and possibly because it was important sounding, you brushed it off as just grandiose ideas fuelled by what you ate the day before?

Please reconsider, and ask God to show you what He wants you to do with your dream.   Now is the time for the Daniels and Josephs to take their place in our communities/nation/world.  God does speak to us in dreams and a dream can transform the entire world!
